(Adds quote from H&M) COPENHAGEN, July 17 (Reuters) – Fashion retailer H&M will launch stores and online trade in Brazil in 2025, the company said on Monday. H&M opened its first store in Latin America in Mexico in 2012, and is currently present in Peru, Uruguay, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Panama, and Costa Rica. “With a population of over 210 million in Brazil and a strong appreciation for fashion, there is considerable potential for expansion in the market,” H&M said in a statement. Shein lawsuit accuses fast-fashion site of RICO violations
Shein is a popular online destination for social influencers and shoppers to stock up on trendy yet affordable clothing, but a new lawsuit alleges that the site maintains its edge by engaging in “egregious” copyright infringement that constitutes racketeering. The complaint was filed on Tuesday in California federal court on behalf of three designers who claimed they were “surprised” and “outraged” to see their products faithfully copied and sold by the Chinese fast-fashion retailer. UPDATED with AMPTP statement, 1:07 AM: Contract negotiations between SAG-AFTRA and the AMPTP broke off tonight, and the guild’s national board will meet Thursday morning to formally approve the launch of a strike.
